EggTastic First Impressions

My first thought upon holding the EggTastic to Cook Scrambled Eggs in a Microwave is that, hey, this thing is not plastic, it’s ceramic. The orange parts are a rubbery silicone material to help it seal and sit on counters without scratching or burning but the rest is ceramic. That’s a nice touch and unexpected in such a low cost product.

Upon removing the Egg Tastic #Ad from the box it’s worth noting that the product is well packaged with Styrofoam all around to prevent breakage.  The first thing you see when removing it from the box is the big red sticker on the lid telling you to read the instructions and cooking times before use. But, my thoughts are, “I don’t need no stinkin’ directions to cook an egg.” LOL

Let’s Cook Scrambled Eggs In The Microwave!

So, on to the cooking. I cracked two regular eggs into the EggTastic, poured in a little milk, added my normal spices and a small dab of butter then stirred everything up with a fork. I did read the second warning sticker in the box that gave me a 140 ± 20 second cooking time for two eggs and away I went to the microwave. At the 140 second mark I took the EggTastic out of the microwave, popped open the lid and noticed my scrambled eggs weren’t quite done yet. Must have been that unmeasured milk I added. So in it went for another 30 seconds.

I then looked in the Egg Tastic again and low and behold, the eggs had cooked up all fluffy just like in the picture on the box. I was amazed! And impressed. I did notice that there was some liquid at the bottom of the EggTastic which, I’m sure, was from my over use of the milk. I spooned the cooked eggs out on to a dish and proceeded to enjoy my first EggTastic Cook Scrambled Eggs In A Microwave breakfast.

So, How Are The Scrambled Eggs

Yummmy! The eggs turned out much more fluffy than they come out of a pan. Although they are more separated and therefore a little harder to eat with a fork. Maybe my next effort with less or no milk will make them stick together a little better. But the taste? The taste was superb! Better than my normal scrambled eggs. Of course, this could just be the result of my selection of spices but I don’t think that was entirely the reason. So, my adventure of cooking scrambled eggs in a microwave was a success!

So What Do Others Think?

As of this writing, there are nearly 800 EggTastic #Ad reviews on Amazon with an average rating of 3.9 out of 5 stars. One reviewer said, “Whole family uses this…” And they bought a couple more for their children in college. A second reviewer stated that, “After several months of data (daily?) use love love love this product. Scramble eat clean scramble eat clean…”

What’s The Bad About the EggTastic?

Nothing is perfect and neither is the Egg Tastic to cook scrambled eggs in a microwave. For one thing it can get quite hot in the microwave. In fact, you may need to use an oven mitt to remove it.  Several reviewers pointed this out. But then, what do you expect from a cooking container? They all get hot! One Amazon reviewer said that his eggs still weren’t cooked after 10 minutes in the microwave. What?! Maybe someone should tell him that he needs to actually turn the microwave ON. LOL  From my experience I can’t see how this could be even remotely possible otherwise.

The Bottom Line

I thought using the EggTastic to Cook Scrambled Eggs in A Microwave was pretty neat and worked really well. It does what it says and cooking scrambled eggs in a microwave for breakfast is a quick and easy job. Most reviewers on Amazon thought the same thing with some not liking how warm the EggTastic got and maybe even the simplicity of it all. I’m not sure what they expected from a scrambled egg cooker that works really well. I like mine and would probably give the EggTastic 4 or 4 1/2 stars, reserving 5 starts for a product that borders on Godliness.
